Services

Four kinds of care, all with a light touch

You and the doctor choose together. You can say no to any part of the visit.

  • Gentle adjustment

A short, controlled movement made with the hands, seated or on a table that adjusts to your height.

  • Instrument adjustment

A handheld instrument that gives a small, quick impulse, with less force than an adjustment by hand.

Your first visit

First we talk, and we take our time

You don't need to prepare anything. Bring your list of medicines and, if you like, a family member.

  • We talk about how you feel and what you want to be able to do

  • The doctor checks your posture and how your spine moves

  • They explain what was found, what they propose and the risks

  • You decide whether to go on, that day or later

Medicare

Medicare, in plain words

Medicare does not pay for everything that happens at a chiropractic visit. This is what it pays and what it does not.

  • What Medicare covers

Manual adjustment of the spine, when it is medically necessary. It is the only chiropractic service Medicare covers.

  • What you pay

After the Part B deductible, you pay 20% of the adjustment. A supplement plan, if you have one, may cover that share.

  • What Medicare does not cover

Exams, x-rays, soft tissue therapy and exercises. If a service is not covered, we tell you first and give you a notice in writing.

Directions

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most

What happens at the first visit?

We talk first, in Spanish or English. Then the doctor checks your posture and how your spine moves, explains what was found and proposes a written plan. The visit takes about 45 minutes and you decide whether to go on.

Does a chiropractic adjustment have risks?

Like any health care, yes. Many people feel some tiredness or soreness afterward, and it usually passes soon. Serious risks are rare, especially in the neck, and the doctor explains them before you start. If you have another health problem, talk to your doctor first.

Will it hurt?

You feel pressure and, at times, a popping sound. If anything bothers you, say so and we stop: you can ask us to stop at any time. For anyone who prefers less force, there are instrument adjustments and a table that eases the movement.

How many visits will I need?

The exam and what you want to be able to do decide it. There is no set number. After the exam, the doctor proposes a written plan and we review it together at each visit.

Do you take my insurance?

It depends on your plan. We bill Medicare for manual adjustment of the spine, the only chiropractic service Medicare covers. With other plans, call us before the first visit and we go over it together. See how fees work.

What if I don't use insurance?

You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask for it: we give it to you in writing before the visit. You can also ask for an itemized receipt to send to your plan, which decides whether to reimburse part of it.
